Traffic & Road Sign Test
Test your knowledge on the meanings of traffic and road signs. This test contains 5 parts, 30 multiple choice questions for each part. Grading is in real time after you submit the results and a detailed answer sheet is provided. Driving is a privilege, you are responsible for knowing what all traffic control signs mean. Did you know there are over 500 Federally approved traffic signs in use today? Understanding their meanings will make you a safer driver. Most DMV written tests require a score of 80% and higher to pass. We also consider 80% and higher a passing grade and recommend that you read the detailed feedback for any questions missed. Driving is a privilege, you are responsible for knowing what all traffic control signs mean.
We're most concerned that a high percentage of people believe that it's OK to drive the maximum posted speed limit even in bad weather conditions. 54 percent don't know what an advance warning sign for a school is, and 34 percent are clueless when seeing a warning sign that means your lane ends ahead, merge into the other lane. Do these drivers create a safety hazard to other motorists?
Increased and ongoing education is the answer here. State DMV websites should incorporate more road sign tests like above, a good example is from NYS DMV. We understand that sign tests are common on many driver's education websites but they require a fee to access them. A fee is a deterrent to most, for maximum effect, these tests need to be free. If you agree that these tests are useful, please link to this test on your website.
